Login with a password

Edited

Next Identity supports a range of secure and user-friendly authentication methods to ensure the safety and convenience of your customers. Choose from various traditional authentication techniques to best fit your application's needs.

Mobile Phone Number + Password

Verify and authenticate customers using their mobile phone number and password. This traditional method ensures a secure login process by leveraging something the user has (their mobile phone) and something the user knows (their password).

Email + Password

Authenticate customers using their email address and a password. To help enforce secure password practices, integrate with Password Guard. This method is straightforward and widely accepted, balancing security and user convenience.

Note: For enhanced security, we recommend using OTP or enabling passwordless authentication (passkeys).

Enabling Password sign in in Your Application via Next Identity Console

To enable password authentication in your application, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Next Identity console.

  2. Navigate to the Journeys screen, and select the Journey you would like to enable passwords for, click on the edit icon (pencil).

  3. The journey builder canvas page will load, showing you the current workflow for that journey, it will include a login card that will display what the current login method is (for example, mobile phone and OTP).

  4. If password is not enabled for sign in and you would like it to be:

    • Click on the edit icon on the login card.

    • A configure login window will open.

    • Within that window, you can toggle the primary identifier as well as the authentication method (one option should be password). Select your desired option.

    • Click Save changes.

  5. Review the changes and save the updated journey in your lowest environment, typically Development, before propagating to upper environments.
