Customize login
Overview
The Authentication Journey allows Application Managers to understand and manage how users authenticate in your application. With a visual, no-code interface, you can customize authentication steps, preview updates, and ensure your login experience aligns with your security and user experience requirements.
Prerequisites
Access to the Next Identity Console
Appropriate role and permissions to view or edit journeys
View the Authentication Journey
To view the configuration of your application’s login flow:
Sign in to the Next Identity Console.
Navigate to the Journeys item on the left sidebar menu.
Select the specific Journey you would like to view and click on view (eyeball icon).
The journey builder will open, showing a visual flowchart of your current authentication setup.
Run the Authentication Journey
To test your login journey in a live preview:
Follow steps 1–2 from the section above.
Select the specific Journey you would like to preview and click on the Run button (play icon).
A new tab will open with the login screen, reflecting the current configuration for that environment.
Edit the Authentication Journey
Note: Changes can only be made in the lowest environment (e.g., Development). Use the propagation feature to apply updates to upper environments.
To edit the login journey:
Follow steps 1–2 from the “View the Authentication Journey” section.
Select the tab for the lowest environment (e.g., Development).
Select the specific Journey you would like to edit and click on the edit icon (pencil icon).
In the flowchart, you can:
Add new steps via the Add features menu.
Remove existing steps using the trash icon next to the step.
After making updates, the save in development button will appear at the bottom of the page.
Review the changes and select Save to apply them.
If needed, propagate changes to upper environments.
Customize Login Screen Settings
To configure authentication methods and login behavior:
On the Journey Builder page, locate the Login Screen box.
Select the edit icon next to it to open Login Settings.
Adjust options such as:
Authentication Type (e.g., email, mobile)
Authentication Method (e.g., password, OTP)
Select Save Changes to save your changes.
The Save in Development button will appear—review and save the updates in the lowest environment.
Use the propagation guide to apply updates to other environments.
